On Wednesday, a 24-year-old woman died in Jim Wells County during a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 281 near FM 2044 at around 1:00 AM.
According to DPS Sgt. Rob Mallory, the woman was a resident of Alice, named Lindsay Webster. She was approaching the intersection when she allegedly ignored the posted stop sign and continued driving without stopping, and her vehicle was hit on the driver’s side by an oncoming 18-wheeler. As a result, she passed away in her vehicle due to very serious injuries.
The two vehicles swerved off the road into the grassy median before coming to a halt.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Highway Patrol officers in Alice.
