Iraida Palmieri’s husband passed away on August 6, 2025 at the age of 88 due to a prolonged illness in Hackensack, New Jersey. His death was confirmed by his family on his Instagram. Iraida Palmieri died in 2014, as reported by The New York Times. However, four years earlier, in March 2010, a serious incident occurred when her upstairs neighbor, Maria Cartagena, shot at her. The attack happened while Iraida was entering her Forest Hills apartment. The bullet grazed her head, causing a minor injury. Maria was reportedly angry about the noise coming from Iraida’s apartment. Following the incident, Maria was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault, and illegal possession of a weapon, according to a report by the New York Post.
Eddie Palmieri said, “This is a very difficult time for my family … Right now, I am focused on one thing: the well-being and safety of my family. That is all there is to say at the moment. Please respect our privacy.”
