Daryl Alan Patterson, the former Major League Baseball pitcher known for his tenure with the Detroit Tigers and several other teams, passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 81.

Patterson, a right-handed pitcher, played in the MLB from 1968 to 1974 for the Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, St. Louis Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a key member of the Tigers’ 1968 World Series championship team, finishing his career with a record of 11–9 and a 4.09 ERA over 142 games.
Of Mono Native American descent, Patterson spent his retirement years in Clovis, California, near Fresno, alongside his family. After leaving baseball, he dedicated 20 years to working with Pacific Gas & Electric, earning respect both on and off the field.
