Voddie Baucham, a pastor, author, and educator, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 56. According to a statement from Founders Ministries, Baucham suffered an “emergency medical incident” earlier in the day before entering “the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served.”
In 2021, Baucham revealed he was battling advanced heart failure, a condition that led to multiple surgeries, including a quadruple bypass. Despite his health challenges, he continued teaching, preaching, and writing, demonstrating resilience and unwavering faith. His sudden death this week has left many in shock, given his recent return to active ministry.
Baucham authored several influential books, including Family Driven Faith, Expository Apologetics, What He Must Be: If He Wants to Marry My Daughter, and the widely discussed Fault Lines, in which he critiqued critical race theory from a biblical worldview.
Baucham is survived by his wife, Bridget, their nine children, and several grandchildren. In its tribute, Founders Ministries said, “We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living. … He entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved.”
