Former NFL defensive end Robert Quinn is back in the spotlight after newly released police footage shows his dramatic arrest earlier this year. The video, obtained by TMZ and published on September 28, captures Quinn bleeding, stumbling, and being restrained by officers during a January 10 incident in North Charleston, South Carolina. Police reported that Quinn had slurred speech, visible facial injuries, and appeared disoriented at the time of his arrest.
Authorities say Quinn was involved in a multi-vehicle crash when his maroon Ford F-150 collided with another car, triggering a chain reaction. Instead of remaining at the scene, Quinn allegedly attempted to leave in a separate vehicle — a white Dodge Challenger — before officers intervened. According to the police report, Quinn resisted orders, forcing officers to use an arm-bar maneuver to bring him under control. The footage also shows the former athlete kicking the door of a police vehicle as he was placed inside.
Quinn, 34, faces two misdemeanor charges: reckless driving and leaving the scene of a collision involving property damage. He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center after receiving medical attention.
This is not Quinn’s first run-in with the law. In August 2023, he was arrested in Summerville, South Carolina, following another hit-and-run crash and assault-related accusations.
Quinn, a first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, played 12 seasons with teams including the Rams, Cowboys, Bears, and Eagles before stepping away from football after the 2022 season. His trial for the January 2025 charges is scheduled to begin in December 2025.
