Aldo Monges died on Saturday, July 19, 2025, after going through a prolonged period of illness.
Aldo Monges’s wife Zulma Monges said,
“He had a brain hemorrhage three years ago that he couldn’t recover from. Things got complicated yesterday he became very ill and passed away in the early hours of this morning. For us, this is a very difficult moment.”
“There were just two of us caring for him all this time, and his departure hit us very hard.”
Aldo Monges’s career
He began his singing career at the age of 5 at school time. He started composing songs and writing at 12. His first album was “Olvídame muchacha” (1971). He appeared as a musical performer in two films: “La carpa del amor” and “Los éxitos del amor” in 1979. He was a friend of maestro Cuco Sánchez, whose songs he recorded several times. His song “Canción para una mentira”, from his debut album and gained significant popularity at the time.
His songs used for many years as the theme music for the popular television program “Argentinísima” hosted by Julio Mahárbiz.
His famous songs are “Brindo por tu cumpleaños”, “Qué voy a hacer con este amor” and “Olvídame muchacha”.
