Turkish male Olympian alpine skier Berkin Usta passed away on 27 March 2025 at the age of 24 in Uludağ, Bursa, Turkey due to a hotel fire in Uludağ. In this hotel fire, his father also died. 
Berkin Usta, his father and mother were stayed on the hotel’s fifth floor.
The Kervansaray Hotel in Uludag fire start at 5:30 a.m. and this time 12 staff were present. Due to this accident several people were suffering from smoke inhalation and they were hospitalized.
After two hours, the fire was brought under control, but by then, the building’s higher floors had already burned.
Sports Minister Osman Askin Bak said that I am deeply saddened to learn that our national athlete Burkin Usta and his father Yahya Usta passed away in the fire at a hotel in Uludağ.
He born on 29 May 2000 Bursa, Turkey. He completed his higher education from International Trade and Business at Istanbul Bilgi University.
His father was national alpine skier. He was inspired by his father and began skiing at age of two. He performed Alpine skiing and became a member of 16 Sports Club in his hometown. He gained experience and completed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.
