He rose to prominence in the 1980s as a solo artist with R&B hits like “Lollipop Luv”, which reached number 23 on the Billboard R&B charts, and “Do You Really Love Me?”.
Beyond his solo work, he became known for his songwriting and production skills, collaborating with major artists including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Sting, Eric Benét, and Barry White. He co-wrote and produced the global hit “Do the Bartman” for The Simpsons Sing the Blues in 1990 and contributed to sessions on Jackson’s Dangerous project.
Over his career, Loren blended electronica, R&B, funk, soul and pop, and earned respect within the music community for his versatility and deep musicality.
He is survived by his family, including his brother Geno, who shared memories of Loren’s life and work following his death.
