Scott Adams, the American cartoonist best known for creating the Dilbert comic strip, died on January 13, 2026, at age 68 after a prolonged battle with metastatic prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, his first ex-wife Shelly Miles announced during a livestream. Adams had publicly shared his diagnosis in 2025 and spent his final weeks in hospice care at his home in Northern California, where he continued engaging with his audience online until his health declined sharply.
