Elizabeth O’Rourke, the former wife of British actor Terence Stamp, has largely remained out of the public eye following their divorce in 2008. Born in Singapore to Irish-Australian and Indian-Singaporean parents, O’Rourke moved to Australia in her early twenties to pursue a degree in pharmacology. She worked as a pharmacist in Bondi, New South Wales, where she met Stamp in the mid-1990s.
The couple married on New Year’s Eve in 2002, when O’Rourke was 29 and Stamp was 64, marking a 35-year age difference that attracted significant media attention. Their marriage lasted six years, ending in April 2008 when O’Rourke filed for divorce on the grounds of Stamp’s “unreasonable behavior,” a claim he did not contest . Stamp later commented on their differing views on alternative medicine, noting that O’Rourke, as a pharmacist, was skeptical of such practices.
Since their separation, O’Rourke has maintained a private life, with little public information available about her activities or current whereabouts. She and Stamp did not have children together. Stamp, who passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 87, was known for his roles in Superman, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and Billy Budd, among others.
He made a striking debut in Billy Budd (1962), which earned him an Academy Award nomination, and went on to star in classics such as The Collector (1965) and Far from the Madding Crowd (1967). Stamp gained global fame portraying the villain General Zod in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980), and later received critical acclaim for his role as Bernadette in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994). His notable filmography also includes The Limey (1999), Theorem (1968), and voice work as Jor-El in Smallville.
