No Evidence of DJ Daniel’s Death
The rumor began circulating on Facebook on February 24, 2026, with posts alleging that DJ’s family had announced his passing. As of February 25, 2026, there has been no official confirmation from DJ’s family, representatives, or credible news outlets supporting those claims.

Family Response
DJ’s father, Theodis Daniel, had already addressed similar rumors earlier in the year. In a Facebook post dated January 14, 2026, he reassured supporters:
“DJ is doing fine… If any update does not come from me, his Dad, or people close to us, it’s not true.”
He also urged followers not to believe online trolls or unverified sources and encouraged everyone to “stay positive and stay prayered up.”
As of February 25, 2026, there has been no post from the family indicating any change in DJ’s condition.
Recognition by President Trump
DJ first gained national attention in March 2025 when he was honored by Donald Trump during an address to a joint session of Congress. At the time, Trump recognized the then-13-year-old as an honorary Secret Service special agent, celebrating his resilience and courage.
