Frankie Muniz has shared a heartwarming reunion photo with his former “Malcolm in the Middle” co-stars Justin Berfield and Christopher Masterson, reigniting excitement among fans for the upcoming revival of the beloved sitcom. The photo, taken on the final day of filming in Vancouver, features the trio smiling together on set. Muniz, who portrayed the titular character Malcolm, captioned the image on X (formerly Twitter), “I was told not to post this yet, but then I remembered the theme song. I’m just too excited for y’all to see the new episodes and I miss my brothers.”
The revival, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026. This four-episode miniseries brings back the original cast, including Bryan Cranston as Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, and Craig Lamar Traylor as Stevie. However, the role of Dewey has been recast with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, as Erik Per Sullivan retired from acting in 2010 and is not participating in the revival.
New additions to the cast include Anthony Timpano as Jamie, Vaughan Murrae as Kelly (the Wilkersons’ youngest sibling), Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, and Kiana Madeira as Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan.
Production for the revival began in April 2025 and concluded in May 2025. With the original creator Linwood Boomer at the helm, fans can expect a continuation of the chaotic and heartfelt family dynamics that made the original series a hit.
As anticipation builds for the premiere, Muniz’s recent social media post has further fueled excitement, leaving fans eager to see the Wilkerson family back in action.
