Patrick Walden died: Babyshambles’s guitarist Patrick Walden died on June 20, 2025, at the age of 46.
He played guitar for The White Sport and was best known as the guitarist for Babyshambles. He also played bass and guitar for numerous recording artists.
His full name was Patrick George Walden, and he was born on October 5, 1978, in Islington, London, England.
He wrote various songs with Pete Doherty, including The Man Who Came To Stay, released in November 2004. His top singles include “Fuck Forever”, “Loyalty Song”, “352 Days”, “In Love With a Feeling”, “Up the Morning”, “Pipe Down”, “32 December”, and “8 Dead Boys.”
He left Babyshambles in December 2005. On January 23, 2006, he rejoined Babyshambles.
On July 19, 2007, he appeared at the Rock Against Racism 30th Anniversary Show at the Hackney Empire.
Walden began playing small gigs in Hackney with his friends and Babyshambles bandmates.
In 2009, he performed “Pipedown” and “Black Boy Lane” at a gig at Halo in Battersea.
In November 2014, Walden gave his first interview for the website themusicalacidtest and photographer Jack Grange.
On June 20, 2025, Babyshambles shared a heartfelt statement on Facebook: “It is with deep regret and sadness that we share the news of Patrick Walden’s death. We feel very fortunate to have known, loved and worked with him, and we kindly ask for respect and privacy during these difficult times.”
