The fashion-forward Italian greyhound known as Tika the Iggy has passed away in 2025, bringing an early end to the life of one of the internet’s most fashionable dogs. Tika died at the age of 14 from lymphoma. Tika’s owner, Thomas Shapiro, announced her death on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, on social media.
She had been based in Montréal, Québec and became a major figure on social media, frequently featured in outfit posts and fashion-centric content.
Tika was popular on social media
Tika first began capturing attention online around 2016, when she was four years old. Her recognizable silver-grey coat, small stature and expressive poses made her a natural for cute, stylish dog content. Soon she evolved beyond simple pet posts: her wardrobe grew to include over 300 different outfits (capes, hoodies, trench-coats) and she was described as a “fashion icon” in the dog world.
Her popularity surged during the pandemic era, when many found comfort in light-hearted pet and fashion content. She appeared in high-profile settings including red-carpet styled events and featured in publications like Vogue. Beyond the wardrobe and visuals, her posts embraced voice-over commentary and a cheeky persona that resonated widely.
Tika is survived by her owner, Thomas Shapiro, who managed her social-media presence and left his day-job as a web-developer in 2021 to support her “career”.
