Clinton and Cristen Brink, originally from South Dakota and newly settled in Prairie Grove, were attacked on a trail while hiking with their daughters, aged 7 and 9. The parents were fatally stabbed; the children were unharmed and are now in the custody of relatives.
Following a five-day manhunt, police released composite sketches, vehicle descriptions, and asked the public to check personal photos or video taken at the park to help identify the suspect.
McGann was arrested on July 30, around 4:57–5:00 p.m., while getting a haircut at Lupita’s Beauty Salon & Barber Shop in Springdale. Evidence markers, photographs, and video surveillance assisted in confirming his identity and locating him.
