Philippe Labro died: French film director Philippe Labro died on 4 June 2025 at the age of 88. He was born on 27 August 1936 in Montauban, France.
He also worked as an author and journalist. He worked at RTL, Paris Match, TF1, and Antenne 2. He was awarded the Prix Interallié in 1986 for his autobiography L’Étudiant étranger. He completed his schooling at Washington and Lee University in Virginia.
After completing his education, he began working as a reporter in Europe. He served in the military from 1960 to 1962 during the Algerian War. He also worked for the newspaper France-Soir.
He worked as a writer and director on many films, including Sans mobile apparent (1971), L’Héritier (1973), Le Hasard et la Violence (1974), L’Alpagueur (1976), La Crime (1983), and Rive droite, rive gauche (1984).
He was named Commander of the Légion d’honneur in April 2010.
