Radhika Gupta is an Indian business executive, currently serving as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Edelweiss Mutual Fund (also referred to as Edelweiss Asset Management).
She is recognised as a rare female leader at the helm of a major asset-management company in India.
Early Life & Education
- Radhika grew up as a “global citizen”, having lived across multiple continents due to her father’s work in the Indian Foreign Service.
- She completed her International Baccalaureate at Marymount International School, Rome in Italy.
- She then attended the University of Pennsylvania, enrolling in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology. There, she earned:
- A BS in Economics from the Wharton School.
- A BSE in Computer Science Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science (Moore School) at UPenn.
Career
- Radhika started her career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company.
- She worked at AQR Capital Management (in the U.S.) in investment/quant roles.
- She co-founded a firm (alternative investment/hedge fund) in India, which was acquired by the Edelweiss Group in 2014.
- Radhika was appointed CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund in 2017.
- Under her leadership, the firm launched India’s first corporate-bond ETF (Bharat Bond) and the firm’s AUM grew significantly.
Personal Life
- Radhika has publicly shared that she was born with a neck-injury / deformity (a “broken neck” condition) and has used this as a powerful narrative of resilience in her TEDx talk “The Girl With a Broken Neck”.
- She is active in speaking engagements, advocating for body-positivity, leadership, and financial inclusion.
