Simran Singh, affectionately known as “Jammu Ki Dhadkan” (Heartbeat of Jammu), was a 25-year-old radio jockey and social media influencer from Jammu and Kashmir. Tragically, she was found dead in her rented apartment in Gurugram on December 25, 2024, in what police suspect to be a suicide. No suicide note was found at the scene, and her family did not file any complaints. They mentioned that Simran had been facing personal challenges for some time, which may have contributed to her decision.
Born in Jammu’s Nanak Nagar, Simran began her career at the age of 21 with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. She later transitioned to freelance work and gained popularity as an Instagram influencer, amassing nearly 700,000 followers. Known for her engaging personality and relatable content, she often shared glimpses of her life, including her last Instagram post on December 13, 2024, which featured her dancing on a beach in a flowing gown, captioned, “Just a girl with endless giggles and her gown, taking over the beach.”
Simran’s untimely death has left her fans and the community in shock. Her family and friends remember her as a vibrant and talented individual who touched many lives through her work. As we reflect on her life, it’s important to acknowledge the pressures and challenges faced by individuals in the public eye and the significance of mental health awareness and support.
