He completed his graduation from William Cullen Bryant High School in Woodside, New York, in 1990. After graduation he attended Brooklyn College and City College of New York. In 2000.
In 1988, he published his first magazines zine—Graphic Scenes & Xplicit Language. He and his friend Haji Akhigbade founded Beat-Down Newspaper in 1992. He was member of the National Arts Journalism Program.
