Sebastião Salgado die: Brazilian social documentary photographer and photojournalist, Sebastião Salgado died on 23 May 2025 at the age of 81 in Paris, France who born on 8 February 1944 in Aimorés, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts from The Federal University of Espírito Santo. He also completed his master’s degree from the University of São Paulo in Brazil, and a PhD from University of Paris.
He trained as economist and initially, he started working as economist for the International Coffee Organization. In 1973, he began photography. Initially, he worked with photo agency Sygma and Gamma as photographyer as like documentary-type work.
He was known for Workers (1993), Migrations (2000), Genesis (2013), Sahel: The End of the Road (1986), The Other Americas (1986) and Documentary: The Salt of the Earth (2014).
Sebastião Salgado’s wife was Lélia Wanick Salgado who is Brazilian author, film producer and environmentalist. They have two children. His son Juliano Ribeiro Salgado is a Brazilian filmmaker, director, and writer.
