The much-anticipated wedding between India women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal, scheduled for 23 November 2025 in Sangli, Maharashtra, has been postponed indefinitely following a sudden health emergency in Mandhana’s family.
“According to her business manager, Tuhin Mishra, the choice to stop the wedding events came directly from Smriti Mandhana. Because of her deep bond with her father, she decided that the ceremony will not move forward until he fully recovers. Mishra stated that the wedding has been put on hold for an indefinite period for this reason.”
The celebrations had already begun with pre-wedding rituals — Haldi, Mehendi, and Sangeet — where teammates and close friends joined in. According to reports, the festive mood included dance performances and cheerful moments; Palash even publicly proposed to Smriti earlier at the DY Patil Stadium, with a heartfelt video shared on social media.
However, on the morning of the wedding day, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, reportedly experienced severe chest pain — resembling a heart-attack — and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Sangli. Given the gravity of the situation and Smriti’s close bond with her father, her team decided to call off the wedding ceremony.
Her manager, Tuhin Mishra, issued an official statement saying the wedding will only proceed once her father recovers. As of now, the family is prioritizing his health, and both families have requested privacy during this sensitive period.
According to hospital sources, Shrinivas has since undergone angiography, which showed no blockages, and his condition is now stable. Still, no new date for the wedding has been shared by the families.
Meanwhile, several wedding-related posts, including the proposal video, have been removed from Smriti’s social media accounts. Teammates and other close friends who earlier shared the celebratory content have also taken down their posts.
Fans and followers across social media have poured out support for Smriti and her family, praising her decision to prioritize her father’s health over the festivities.
