Walt Jocketty was special advisor for the Cincinnati Reds from 2008 to 2025. Gentleman Jocketty began his career from his school Marshall High School in Minneapolis, where he played baseball, football, basketball, and hockey in high school.
He completed higher education from the University of Minnesota in a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Initially, he worked as director of Minor League Operations and Scouting, hired by Charlie Finley in March 1980 for Oakland Athletics.
He also worked as general manager of the St. Louis Cardinals on October 14, 1994. In his time, he achieved high level because he and his team won 7 time National League Central Division in 1996, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2 time National League Championship (2004 and 2006). His team also won 1 time World Series Championship in 2006. From January 2008 to 23 April 2008, he worked as Special Advisor for his team. He received Sporting News Executive of the Year in 2010. In 2015, he became President of Baseball Operations and he became Executive Advisor to the CEO in 27 December 2016.
