Rajvir Jawanda was an Indian Punjabi singer and actor known for his folk-inspired vocals and hit Punjabi songs. He also appeared in several Punjabi films. His sudden accident on 27 September 2025 and untimely death on 8 October 2025 have left the entire Punjabi entertainment industry and his fans in deep shock.
He was born in Pona village, Punjab
Rajvir Jawanda was born around 1990 in Pona village, in the Ludhiana district (Jagraon area) of Punjab. Coming from a humble farming background, Rajvir completed his schooling at Sanmati Vimal Jain School, Jagraon, and later attended DAV College, Jagraon. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Theatre & Television from Punjabi University, Patiala, where he nurtured his love for performing arts and music.
He was a singer and actor
Rajvir’s musical journey began in a very simple yet inspiring way. He first came into the limelight after singing two lines on a Doordarshan show titled Mera Pind-Mera Khet, hosted by his mother, Paramjit Kaur, who was then the village Sarpanch. This moment marked the beginning of his passion for music.
Before his fame, Rajvir served in the Punjab Police as a constable, following in the footsteps of his father, Karam Singh Jawanda, who was a former Assistant Sub-Inspector. However, music became his true calling. In 2019, he decided to leave his police job to pursue singing full-time.
His music career
Rajvir Jawanda made his debut with the song “Munda Like Me” (2014), but his major breakthrough came with superhit tracks like “Kali Jawande Di,” “Khush Reha Kar,” “Sardaari,” “Do Ni Sajna,” “Kangani,” “Tu Dis Penda,” “Surname,” “Afreen,” “Landlord,” and “Down to Earth.”
His music beautifully blended traditional Punjabi folk with modern pop rhythms, which helped him gain a massive fan base across India and abroad. His emotional voice and heart-touching lyrics made him one of the most admired singers in the Punjabi industry.
His acting career
Besides singing, Rajvir Jawanda also showcased his talent in Punjabi cinema. He acted in films such as:

He was married man
Rajvir’s father, Karam Singh Jawanda, served as a former Assistant Sub-Inspector, and his mother, Paramjit Kaur, once held the position of Sarpanch. He was married, and according to reports, his wife had urged him not to go for the bike ride on the day of the accident.
Rajvir was passionate about motorcycles and had recently bought a BMW bike, which also appeared in one of his music videos.
The Tragic Accident — 27 September 2025
On 27 September 2025, Rajvir Jawanda met with a severe motorcycle accident near Baddi, in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, while traveling toward Shimla. According to reports, he lost control of his bike, possibly after encountering stray cattle on the road.
He suffered serious head and spinal injuries and reportedly experienced a cardiac arrest during the transfer to the hospital. Initially, he was admitted to a local hospital in Solan before being shifted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, where he was placed on ventilator support. His condition remained critical with minimal brain activity.
He passed away on 8 October 2025
After battling for life for nearly 11 days, Rajvir Jawanda passed away on 8 October 2025 at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, at the age of 35. The cause of death was reported as multiple organ failure following severe head and spinal injuries.
Singer and rapper Parmish Verma wrote on Instagram,
“We can’t bid farewell to Rajvir Jawanda Bai only with RIP, his morning, art, hard work, passion, life, love, and respect, who has lived his life, it’s not less to be inspired by anyone.”
