Bear Attack in Florida: In 5 May 2025, a man and his dog have killed by black bear in Southwest Florida. This man was 89-year-old named Robert Markel. His daughter witnessed a bear killing his dog, she immediately called emergency service from 911 to get help.
Robert Markel’s death body found hundred yards away from the dog. After this accident, Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) took action and killed the black bear. Around 10 people searched the forest, found the attacking bear, and killed it. For this work, used drones and FWC agents killed the black bear almost 100 feet away from Robert Markel’s home.

More than 4,000 black bear live in Florida’s forest and sizable population in south-west Florida. In 2070, the elephant population has declined to just 300 to 500 due to hunting. In 1994, Hunting was banned but limited hunting began in 2015.
When people encounter bears, it becomes a challenge for them to save their own lives.
If you encounter with black bears, you don’t run away because black bear runs 40 km/h. Speak in a calm tone and back away slowly. Don’t stare aggressively.
If a black bear attacks you, you should fight back using anything available as a weapon.
