Frederick Forsyth died: English novelist and journalist, Frederick Forsyth died on 9 June 2025 at the age of 86 in Jordans, Buckinghamshire, England after a brief illness at home on Monday surrounded by his family.
His full name was Frederick McCarthy Forsyth who born on 25 August 1938 in Ashford, Kent, England.

He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, all of us at Curtis Brown and of course his millions of fans around the world though his books will of course live on forever,” Frederick Forsyth’s literary agent Jonathan Lloyd said.

He was known for The Day of the Jackal, The Fourth Protocol, The Dogs of War, The Cobra, The Devil’s Alternative, The Veteran, The Fist of God, Icon, Avenger, The Afghan, The Odessa File, and The Kill List.
He sold more than 70 million books in different different languages more than 30 languages.
He completed his education from at Tonbridge School and private boarding.
He worked as pilot in his National Service in the Royal Air Force and he flew the de Havilland Vampire. He worked as acting pilot officer on 28 August 1956 and promoted as pilot officer on 28 August 1957.
He joined Reuters in 1961 and in 1965 the BBC as assistant diplomatic correspondent and become journalist.
He also worked as freelance reporter and wrote own book named The Biafra Story, in 1969.
He wrote novel “The Dogs of War” in 1974 and made a film 1980 starring Christopher Walken and Tom Berenger.
In 1994, Forsyth published The Fist of God is a novel.
In 2005, he appeared on the ITV gameshow Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and BBC’s political panel show Question Time in 2007.
Various film made, inspired by his novels including The Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File, The Dogs of War, The Fourth Protocol, The Jackal and The Shepherd.
He also wrote song Fallen Soldier and music by Gareth Ellis Williams.
Frederick Forsyth’s first wife was Carole Cunningham. They married in 1973 and separated in 1988. They had two sons: Stuart and Shane.
His second wife was Sandy Molloy, married in 1994. Sandy Molloy is former scriptwriter and worked as Elizabeth Taylor’s personal assistant.
