Yvette Hoffman biography: Yvette Hoffman is known as the wife of John Hoffman. She and her husband were shot at their home; however, they survived. Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed in the same attacks on June 14, 2025, in Minnesota.
Yvette began her career in Des Moines, where she co‑hosted a morning radio show at Star 102.5. She also worked as a kindergarten teacher in Minnesota.
She and John met at a fundraiser in Iowa and later got married. She has a daughter.
Her husband, John Hoffman, is an American politician who is a member of the Minnesota Senate. He was a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party and represented District 34. He supports the Democratic Party.
He was born on January 17, 1965, in Casper, Wyoming, U.S. He completed a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (SMUMN). He was first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016, 2020, and 2022. Currently, he chairs the Human Services Committee.
Hoffman’s nephew, Matt Oleg, said, “A bullet just very nearly missed Senator Hoffman’s heart… Yvette… saved the couple’s daughter’s life.”
