Grzegorz Vandenberg biography: Grzegorz Vandenberg is a 48‑year‑old man from Texas, United States. He was charged with purchasing and transporting explosives, and his intent was to use them against law enforcement officers in recent immigration protests in Los Angeles.
According to authorities’ statements, he bought six 60‑gram firework mortars and 36 large fireworks from a store in southwestern New Mexico, and he also told the store’s staff he was an ex‑special forces soldier and could make pipe bombs.
He was traveling to Los Angeles with the intention of joining the protests, where he allegedly planned to use the devices to attack and possibly kill police officers.
Authorities began tracking him with the help of his license plate number. The next day, he was arrested by authorities in Tucson, Arizona.
“This man allegedly intended to use the chaotic riots in Los Angeles as an opportunity to commit deadly violence against law enforcement officers,” U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi said.
“We will not hesitate to bring federal charges against anyone who seeks to harm law enforcement,” U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated.
