Jon Jones retired: Professional mixed martial artist Tom Aspinall looked very happy when Jon Jones announced his retirement from UFC on Saturday. And it makes sense, because now Tom Aspinall has been officially declared the one and only (undisputed) heavyweight champion.
As his first response, Tom shared several Instagram stories to show his reaction and emotions.
UFC chief Dana White said in a fiery press conference on Saturday that Jones has retired from UFC. He added that the American MMA star called him ahead of UFC Baku to confirm, and he revealed that Jon Jones was leaving the sport for good.
“Jon Jones is retired. Tom Aspinall is the UFC heavyweight champion.”
“Aspinall held the interim title and now becomes the undisputed champion after Jon Jones’ retirement,” his fan said on X.
Aspinall said: “For you fans. It’s time to get this heavyweight division going 🔥 An active Undisputed Champion.”
“Yeah, it’s been long enough. I think everyone’s in agreement. You have to be active, and being stripped doesn’t mean like you’re not skilled or anything. It just means you’re not active, which he would have to admit, if he’s being honest, he hasn’t been active,” Blaydes said.
Jon Jones’s partner is Jessie Moses, who has four children: three daughters and a son named Leah, born in July 2008; Carmen Nicole, born in December 2009; and Olivia Haven, born in 2013.
In 2024, he had a $3 million net worth, but in 2025, his net worth is around $17 to $30 million after signing a contract worth $18 million.
