Daniel Park was a 32-year-old U.S. citizen from Washington state. He was charged in connection to a May 17 bombing at the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California.
He allegedly procured approximately 180–270 pounds of ammonium nitrate for Guy Edward Bartkus, who carried out a car bomb attack that killed himself and injured others.
Park and Bartkus reportedly bonded over extremist ideologies, anti-natalism or “pro-mortalism,” believing humans shouldn’t be born.
Park flew to Poland four days after the bombing. Later, he was detained by Polish authorities. He was extradited to the U.S. and taken into custody at JFK Airport in New York on June 3. He was later transferred to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles on June 13.
On June 24, 2025, he was found unresponsive and unconscious in his cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles and taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of his death, and an investigation is underway. His attorney said it might have been suicide.
The investigation includes the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Bomber was identified by officials as 25-year-old Guy Bartkus. BHe died in the blast outside the fertility clinic.
