Judy Munro, an artist who was known as the wife of Alex Delvecchio, who was a Canadian professional ice hockey player, passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 93 in Rochester, Michigan, U.S., at his home in Rochester, Michigan.
Previously, he was married to Teresa Delvecchio. They had five children. He also worked as a coach and general manager. He played in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings team. He played in 1,549 games and recorded 1,281 points. He received the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy for sportsmanship. He also played with Steve Yzerman and Nicklas Lidström in at least 1,500 games. He also served as head coach of the Red Wings.
His full name was Alexander Peter “Fats” Delvecchio, who was born on December 4, 1931, in Fort William, Ontario, Canada.
He mostly played for the Detroit Red Wings. From 1950 to 1951, he played for the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey Association. He debuted in the NHL on March 25, 1951, playing against the Montreal Canadiens in the Red Wings’ final game of the season.
He retired as a player in 1973, then served as Detroit’s head coach and later as general manager. He founded Alex Delvecchio Enterprises.
His family said,

While the world knew him as an incredible hockey player with numerous accomplishments on the ice, we knew him as someone whose humility, strength, competitiveness, kindness, and heart were even greater than his professional achievements. For decades, your love and support meant everything to Alex and to all of us. We are deeply grateful and thankful to everyone.”
