Thierry Ardisson died on 14 July 2025 at the age of 76 in Paris, France, from liver cancer.
His family said, “Thierry left as he lived. As a courageous and free man. With his children and mine, we were united around him. Until his last breath.”
He was born on 6 January 1949 in Bourganeuf, Creuse, France. His parents were originally from Nice in southern France. His father was a construction worker. In 1969, he moved to Paris to start a career in advertising. Initially, he joined BBDO, then TBWA. He also worked at Ted Bates. He founded his own agency, Business, in 1978 with Éric Bousquet and Henri Baché. He also worked as a copywriter and wrote a number of memorable slogans for French consumers. In 1984, he joined as the vice-director of publications for the Hachette-Filipacchi press group. He formed a new partnership with Hachette-Filipacchi and launched the magazine Entrevue in 1992. From 1988 to 1990, he hosted the show Lunettes noires pour nuits blanches and also hosted the show Télé Zèbre.
On 29 August 2014, he joined Laurent Ruquier’s Les Grosses Têtes on RTL. He produced his first TV series, Face à France, in 1987 and went on to produce almost 35 television shows. He also worked as a writer on Peplum, Tout le monde en parle, and others.
He also acted in Fils De, I Love You Coiffure, Paris by Night, and more.
