Claudine Longet, french-American singer and actress, has died at the age of 84 and her death was announced by her nephew Bryan Longet on his Instagram story.
“You have been a true source of inspiration in my life, and you always will be. One more star in the sky. Thank you for everything, my aunt. Thoughts and prayers for my French-American family. I will continue to honor your memory,” he wrote (Translated version).
In 1976, Claudine Longet shot and killed her boyfriend, Vladimir ‘Spider’ Sabich, at their home in Aspen. He was shot in the stomach by his girlfriend, Claudine Longet and he died at the age of 31 while being taken to the hospital.

Claudine Longet began her career as a singer and actress in the 1960s after moving from France to the United States. She gained popularity through her appearances on The Andy Williams Show and built a music career releasing soft pop and easy-listening albums under A&M Records, which earned her moderate chart success.
She also acted in a few films and television projects, most notably appearing in the 1968 comedy The Party. After her legal case in the late 1970s, she withdrew from public life and largely ended her entertainment career.
Claudine Longet was married twice. Her first marriage was to singer and television host Andy Williams in 1961, and they had three children together before divorcing in 1975. Later, she married her defense attorney Ronald Austin in 1985, and she lived a very private life after that.
