The Christian broadcasting community is mourning the loss of Joni Lamb, who passed away at the age of 65. The news was confirmed Thursday by the Daystar Television Network, which announced that the longtime president and co-founder had “gone home to be with the Lord” after her health condition worsened in recent days.
According to the network, Lamb had been privately dealing with serious health complications for some time. A recent back injury reportedly intensified her condition more than expected, leading to a rapid decline despite ongoing medical care and prayers from supporters around the world. In a heartfelt statement released May 7, Daystar shared that she was now “in the presence of Jesus,” reunited with her late husband, Marcus Lamb.
Joni Lamb built one of the most influential careers in Christian broadcasting after co-founding the Daystar Television Network with her husband Marcus Lamb in 1993. Starting from a small Christian TV station in Alabama, she helped transform Daystar into a global faith-based television network reaching audiences around the world.
Over nearly four decades, she worked as a television host, executive producer, author, singer, and ministry leader, becoming widely known through programs such as Joni Table Talk and Ministry Now.
Following Marcus Lamb’s death in 2021, she stepped into a larger leadership role as president of the network and continued expanding its media presence internationally.
Throughout her career, she received recognition including Telly Awards and Emmy-related honors for her contributions to religious broadcasting, while also remaining a prominent and sometimes controversial voice in Christian media due to her outspoken views and leadership decisions.
About Daystar Television Network
Daystar Television Network is one of the largest Christian television networks in the world, founded in 1993 by Marcus Lamb and Joni Lamb. The network began after the couple purchased a small television station in Texas and later expanded it into an international faith-based broadcasting platform.
Headquartered in Bedford, Texas, Daystar broadcasts Christian sermons, worship programs, talk shows, music, and inspirational content to audiences across the United States and many other countries through satellite, cable, and streaming services. Over the years, the network became known for popular programs like Ministry Now and Joni Table Talk, while also featuring well-known pastors and evangelists from around the world.
Daystar grew rapidly during the 2000s and became one of the most widely distributed Christian TV networks globally, although it has also faced criticism and controversies related to leadership disputes, political commentary, and internal family allegations in recent years.
