Shpat Kasapi, one of the most recognised voices in Albanian pop music, passed away on 26 November 2025 in Bologna, Italy. According to confirmed reports, the 40-year-old singer suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving the Albanian and Macedonian music community in deep shock. His death was confirmed by family members.
Born on 1 May 1985 in Tetovo, North Macedonia, Shpat Kasapi rose to fame in the early 2000s with a fresh, youthful style that quickly gained popularity across Albanian-speaking regions. He became known for hit songs such as “A më do?”, “Valle Kosovare”, “Dashni pa limit”, and “Aroma e saj”, which cemented his place as one of the most beloved pop artists of his generation. His career included performances at major music festivals, including Festivali i Këngës 47, a prestigious platform linked to Eurovision selections. With energetic performances and a unique melodic style, Kasapi built a loyal fan base and left a strong imprint on modern Albanian pop culture.
Shpat Kasapi is survived by his young son from a previous relationship, along with close family members who were reportedly with him in Italy at the time of the tragedy. Public figures, fellow artists, and thousands of fans mourned his loss, including North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister Izet Mexhiti, who described Kasapi’s passing as a significant loss to the cultural and artistic world.
