Lamond began her career at just 10 years old, singing on radio while touring with her vaudeville-performer parents. Over the years, she became known for major stage productions such as Oliver!, Annie Get Your Gun, My Fair Lady and The Pajama Game. She also made history in the 1960s as the first woman in the world to host her own Tonight Show, appearing on In Melbourne Tonight and setting new milestones for women in television broadcasting.
