Jordan Cornette is a former college basketball player turned sports broadcaster who has become one of the most respected voices in American sports media. A proud alumnus of the University of Notre Dame, Cornette captained the Fighting Irish basketball team during his tenure from 2001 to 2005, earning four monograms and setting the school’s all-time blocks record (201) — a record that still stands.
After retiring from basketball, Cornette traded the court for the camera, quickly carving out a name in broadcasting through his analytical insight and easygoing charisma.
From player to broadcaster
Cornette’s broadcasting journey began behind the scenes at the Big Ten Network, where he worked as a production assistant and later as a producer. His talent in storytelling and on-air delivery helped him land analyst roles at Campus Insiders (now Stadium) and later at ESPN, where he spent over six years hosting college basketball and football coverage.
At ESPN, Cornette co-hosted radio programs, appeared on SportsCenter, and even partnered with his wife, Shae Cornette, on shows such as GameDay on ESPN Radio — a fan favorite for its chemistry and authentic sports debates.
New role with NBC & ABC partnership
Following his departure from ESPN in 2023, Cornette joined NBC Sports as a studio host and college basketball analyst, appearing across NBC and Golf Channel programming. Recently, ABC Sports also highlighted him as one of the rising on-air personalities to watch, citing his storytelling ability and authentic voice in sports analysis.
Cornette currently covers college basketball and contributes to NBC’s digital platforms, offering in-depth breakdowns and play-by-play commentary.
He married to Shae Cornette
Jordan is married to Shae Cornette, who recently made headlines as the new host of ESPN’s First Take following Molly Qerim’s exit. Jordan wrote on X, “They never made it easy for her. Beyond wild stuff. And yet she still won. Never played their game. Played hers. True boss behavior. They are lucky. You can’t keep a star down. She is a force of nature and won’t be denied. Beyond proud of my Schway.”
